If you want to make an ornamental pool or pond to your garden, what can be more joyful than making your own designing your own pool? PVC liner is the liner of your pond or ornamental pool. You can also design your own pond and enjoy the view of fish swimming in a natural environment or plants.

PVC (Liner) Foil Properties:

PVC liner is prepacked. It is 6x5 m artificial pond foil. It is produced from tough and flexible layer PVC. It is perfect for creating waterproof areas. It is resistant to tearing down, UV rays and to frost. It does not contain any poisonous substance or carcinogenic. It is plant and animal friendly.

Basic principles for building a foil pool:

It is essential to apply a few basic principles to create a healty bioarea. The first thing to do is to dig a hole in a few stages:

Deep water area:  The ideal deep water area of a pool is 100-150cm.  This will prevent the water from freezing in winter and from heating in summer easily. By this, the fish in the pond can be pulled to this deep area easily.

Low water area:  The low water area of a pool is ideally 30-50 cm and can be wider than the deep water area so that you can place plants to this area and it will not be dangerous for animals also.

Coastal area: An outer edge up to 30 cm is very suitable for plant growth. This area can be masked with steep stones, grass and other flora layers.

To start up a foil pond construction: First, you should mark the frame. Determine the place and shape of your pool. You can use a garden hose or a rope for doing this. You can also mark the deep and low water areas as well.

Dig the puddle first:  After this, fix the marking and spread the soil layer. The vertical smoothness level of the pool is very important. Cover the deep and low water areas with a 10 cm gravel layer. While digging these places, keep in mind that you will put some material to the base.

Apply the lowest layer: Remove all the sharp objects and roots from the pool bed. Apply a sand layer as an extra protection for the foil. Using a strong synthetic material under the foil is also recomended.

Place the foil layer: Place the foil to the base of the pool. Leave 30-50 cm from both sides. Fill the water to the pond. Foil will come to the right position slowly. The upper part of the foil must always be higher than the water level. The edges of the foil will be cut.

Covering the edges: Using braided nylon or flora layers is recomended for the edges. This flora will be fixed to the ground by PVC fixing material and after the plants grow, this PVC film will become invisible.
